First day!
We worked hard all day long accomplishing a lot of things in a short period of time. We managed to get the sewage pipes unclogged, the stairs walkable, shading for the sitting area, the railing hung, and the offices assemblied. A good day of learning, of listening, of trying to explain in halted French and English, of laughter, of smells, and many other memories. Some pictures...

The team is here!
The team is here, let the work begin. We are excited for them to complete some projects in the upcoming week. May God bless their time here as they teach, as they have many conversations with the young students at Adoration Christian Centre. May God keep them safe as they travel and as they work. Thanks for coming and taking the time out of your schedules and leaving loved ones behind.

The Parachute!
Recently a parachute came from Canada for Phys. Ed. classes. Just this past week I spent some time teaching the teachers how to use it. As you can see it was a lot of fun by teachers and students alike.

January 12th, 2010
Almost three years ago the LORD in His wisdom decided to shake Haiti a little bit more then the rest of the world that day. At 4:53 pm the country of Haiti would never be the same again. Peoples lives were thrown into disarray, lives were changed, people lost loved ones, and many buildings were destroyed.
On Friday we had two services at Adoration Christian Centre. We had one in the morning with the students from Adoration Christian School and the one in the afternoon with the secondary students.

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see what the LORD has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Thank you Mike and Theresa Douma
We had a blast on the roof tonight thanks so much to the Doumas. The glow bracelets provided so much entertainment that Chloe ended up in bed a lot later then usual. Daphka, Chloe, Joel, Mindy, and Dad Beintema spent a lot of time waving them around to show different patterns.

Happy New Year!
From our family to yours we wish you a happy New Year. May the LORD our God open many doors for each one of you. May you step through these doors together with you family and your friends allowing God to guide you in the ways that He wants you to go. Go with God because God is good all the time!
Psalm 90
A prayer of Moses the man of God.
Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death, they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death, they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.
We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.
All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.
Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, or they quickly pass, and we fly away.
If only we knew the power of your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Relent, LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us, yes, establish the work of our hands.
Never once has God left you and never once will He leave you in the upcoming year! May the words of this song give you peace in the year to come!
